While the 2020 Champions Classic is still expected to be played, no one quite knows where or when.
Before the pandemic, the event was scheduled for Nov. 10 in Chicago; then it was moved to Dec. 1 in an Orlando bubble. Now with COVID concerns, the event will not be in Orlando, and no date has been set.
With that, there’s been some speculation that the event could simply be held in two separate locations with either Duke or Michigan State hosting their matchup and Kentucky or Kansas hosting the other.
While it’s impossible to know whether Lexington or Lawrence would host the matchup between the Wildcats and Jayhawks right now, ESPN.com may offer a clue.
When looking at the college basketball schedule on ESPN.com, Kentucky is shown traveling to Lawrence to take on the Jayhawks on Dec. 1.

If UK does end up heading to Lawrence, it would mark their first trip to Allen Fieldhouse since 2016 when they were defeated 90-84 in overtime of an SEC/BIG12 challenge matchup.
Kentucky’s last win in Lawrence came during the 1983-84 season when a Joe B. Hall coached Wildcat team took down the Larry Brown coached Jayhawks 72-50 behind Melvin Turpin’s 25 points.
