Talented WR Armond Scott decommits from Kentucky

Kentucky’s struggling offense finally leads to a big decommit from a talented wide receiver.

It’s been quite the struggle for the Kentucky Wildcats’ offense in 2020.

There was hope that it would get a big boost from its 2021 recruiting class, which featured four pledges from talented wide receivers.

Unfortunately, one of them just decommitted, as Armond Scott announced he was backing off his UK pledge on Thanksgiving.

One of the top recruits from Ohio, Scott plays at Euclid High School and picked the Cats back in May. The 6-3 three-star receiver is ranked 19th in the state by 247 Sports Composite, which also has him ranked 491st overall in 2021.

If Kentucky’s offense, especially the passing game, continues to struggle over the final 2-3 games (if there’s a bowl), don’t be surprised if any of the three other receiver commits — Christian Lewis, Dekel Crowdus and Chauncey Magwood — opt to reopen their recruitment. Kentucky has done little to nothing this season to make any talented receiver feel confident about joining this offense.
