The Kentucky Wildcats already were set to have their hands full Saturday as they’ll take on the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa, but now it appears the task will be even taller.
Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio reports UK will be thin at two major position groups when they take on Alabama Saturday and that two of their “best” players on offense and defense will be out.
Now hearing there are two major position groups (not counting special teams) that will be VERY thin tomorrow vs Alabama

Plus arguably one of our two best players on both Offense and Defense
So there’s that
This comes just a week after Ray Guy Award winning punter Max Duffy and field goal kicker Matt Ruffolo were both surprise inactives for UK’s 38-35 over Vanderbilt and after the game, Mark Stoops admitted he could not comment on why they were absent.
Obviously, these absences are likely linked to either positive COVID-19 tests or contact tracing, making it Kentucky’s, which would make it the first major COVID outbreak for Stoops’ crew this season.
UK is one of few teams left in the SEC that has not had a game postponed this season, joining only Arkansas and South Carolina.
