We finally got out first glimpse of the 2020-21 edition of the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team via their annual Pro Day.
It was noticeably less packed than previous years, as they hosted all NBA scouts through Zoom instead of in-person. Among those virtually in attendance was Miami Heat president and Kentucky legend Pat Riley.
We learned a little about this year’s team, such as BJ Boston is a stud, Isaiah Jackson looks like a freak of nature, and Olivier Sarr was worth the five month wait to get him eligible.
Up next, Kentucky will host a virtual edition of Big Blue Madness on Nov. 20. Their first regular-season game comes Nov. 25 vs. Morehead State.
Let’s see what social media had to say about the new Wildcats:

Olivier Sarr is so skilled and smooth, just a perfect addition to this roster. Perfect complementary piece to Isaiah Jackson, who is pure athleticism and length.

Would be shocked if we don't see them play together quite a bit.
I could watch this downhill driving drill all day. We keep hearing how competitive these dudes are. Three-play series to illustrate:

Sarr yams on Jackson. Jackson swats driving Boston. Boston leaves no doubt with a soaring, cocked-back dunk against Jackson. Fun.
Pretty much every player on this team seems to have something unique that they can contribute over the course of a season.

And if they truly buy in defensively
Also, imagine being a five-star recruit right now. After watching Kentucky dominate the NBA Bubble, UK gets the first nationally televised CBB event of the year, and it's in front of scouts from all 30 NBA teams. https://t.co/tSxggw9Pm7

Lance Ware can become a really good college basketball player when he gets stronger. Really smooth looking big man.
— Justin Rowland (@RowlandRIVALS) November 13, 2020
BJ Boston doesn’t miss many shots. Smoothest jumper on the team so far
— Matt Jones (@KySportsRadio) November 13, 2020
Impossible to say where Kentucky hoops will end up by March, but just watching on @SECNetwork right now - they haven't had a team that *looks* like this - size, strength, athleticism, length - since 2014-2015
— Aaron Torres (@Aaron_Torres) November 13, 2020
BJ Boston is going to be a lot of fun to watch.
— Big Blue Express (@bigbluexpress) November 13, 2020
Keion Brooks is an impressive young man
— Matt Jones (@KySportsRadio) November 13, 2020
B.J. Boston to SEC Network on Olivier Sarr: "Just makes the game easier. He has a high IQ, high motor, loves to play winning basketball and just plays his ass off every play."
— Kyle Tucker (@KyleTucker_ATH) November 13, 2020
If Dontaie Allen can shoot with this much confidence during the season, he'll earn real minutes on this team.
— Jack Pilgrim (@JackPilgrimKSR) November 13, 2020
Jimmy Dykes on Isaiah Jackson: "This kid jumps off the court and jumps off the film. His motor, his length, his speed, his skill set, higher than even the Kentucky staff thought they were getting."
— TheCatsPause247 (@TheCatsPause247) November 13, 2020
Kentucky Basketball on my television is one of the happiest moments of 2020
— . (@LilJoeBHall) November 13, 2020
BJ Boston. Walking millionaire.
— trevor trout (@totaltroutmove) November 13, 2020
Isaiah Jackson is just ridiculously long.
— Jeff Drummond (@JDrumUK) November 13, 2020
John Calipari: "Lemme give a shoutout to the NBA."
— Kyle Tucker (@KyleTucker_ATH) November 13, 2020
I mean, yeah.
John Calipari on Isaiah Jackson: "That kid is going to be so good."
— Jack Pilgrim (@JackPilgrimKSR) November 13, 2020
“I feel good, but this is the hardest I’ve been going in a while,” Keion Brooks said during UK Pro Day. https://t.co/Sx5LYfIrTx
— Nick Roush (@RoushKSR) November 13, 2020
Terrence Clarke hasn’t been talked about a lot tonight but he’s going to be a really interesting piece on this team. So versatile and athletic.
— Big Blue Express (@bigbluexpress) November 13, 2020
Davion Mintz has been a pleasant surprise to me.
— Travis Graf (@TravisGraf_) November 13, 2020
“Matthew Mitchell is one of the great guys of all time,” Calipari says.
— Maggie Davis (@MaggieDavisTV) November 13, 2020
“Every program here is treated first class (including the women’s hoops team) and it’s because Mitchell took everything to the next level.”
BJ Boston is an absolute stud.
— SECSportsTalk (@sportstalk_sec) November 13, 2020
Jimmy Dykes on Kentucky: "They have a long ways to go. Will they get knocked around a little bit early? Probably so. Will people question Cal? Probably so. Will they be right there in the hunt in March? Probably so."
— TheCatsPause247 (@TheCatsPause247) November 13, 2020
Cal on wearing a mask: Wear your mask, please...Don't go into a bar... don't be in the last month someone who gets sick."
— Jerry Tipton (@JerryTipton) November 13, 2020
Isaiah Jackson is going to catch a lot of lobs this season. I'm officially on the bandwagon after tonight.
