Back on October 14th, the Kentucky Wildcats extended an offer to three-star shooting guard Brandin Podziemski. That was soon followed by an offer from the Kansas Jayhawks as well.
There is also a connection with former Cat Tyler Herro, as Podziemski plays for the same AAU team (Team Herro) in Wisconsin that Herro played for.
The 6-6 wing has begun to blow up on the recruiting trail and just poured in one of the more impressive performances in a recent game. Podziemski posted 52 points on 22/24 shooting and was 8/9 from three-point range while adding 10 rebounds and 5 assists.
Jake Weingarten of StockRisers had the opportunity to talk with Podziemski about his current offers and a lot more.
Weingarten jumped right into the Kentucky and Kansas offers to see what the schools were pitching.
“In terms of the pitches from Kentucky and Kansas they both just expressed how hard I play and how much I compete and how I have that chip on my shoulder all the time. They also just told me about their program and set it to me straight.”
As for a commitment, we shouldn’t expect a decision anytime soon.
“I would like to commit when I feel is right and when my family feels that it is the right time. Right now, committing is not on my mind. My main focus is just continuing to build relationships with the coaching staff and also get better every day.”
As for the Tyler Herro connection, Podziemski said Herro has reached out to him.
“Yes, I have. After I had gotten the offer from Kentucky, he followed me on Instagram and reached out and sent me a short message which meant a lot.”
Herro also provided Podziemski with advice as his recruiting stock continues to rise,
This recruitment will be an interesting one to follow and I would bet that his three-star rating isn’t going to stay very long as he continues to make a name for himself and rack up a lot more offers.
