Yesterday was a continuation of success on the recruiting trail for the Kentucky Basketball program, as Kentucky landed Daimion Collins, the 6’10” Texas native who boasts a 7’3” wingspan.
Collins is one of the more intriguing prospects in the class because of his length, shot-blocking ability, and upside, seemingly fitting the perfect mold for the type of big men that John Calipari has sought out at Kentucky.
Collins ranks 19th overall in the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, ranking as high as 10th by Rivals. That makes him the highest-rated player in Kentucky’s class right now, which now sits as the second-overall or third-overall class in 2021 depending on which service you look at.
And Collins joins Skyy Clark and Bryce Hopkins as commitments within the last week, as Kentucky has picked up a lot of momentum on the recruiting trail.
It seems that Kentucky has turned a lot of focus on recruiting as of late, particularly with Joel Justus and Jai Lucas, with Lucas playing a key role in landing Collins. Lucas was his primary recruiter when he was on the Texas coaching staff.
Justus and Lucas are paying major dividends on the recruiting trail the last couple weeks and there’s no reason to think that momentum is going to slow down.
