The start of the 2020 college basketball season is right around the corner, and the Kentucky Wildcats are once again going to be one of the best teams in the country after bringing in the No. 1 overall recruiting class, so long as Olivier Sarr is also eligible to play.

However, due to the coronavirus the schedule is going to be mixed up from what we originally expected as some of the regular season events are going to be held in a “bubble” setting like we have seen with the NBA.

Also, we are seeing a lot of teams decide that they will be hosting their own MTE’s on campus with various teams. The Cats were originally scheduled to face Hartford in the 2020 season, but it had been rumored that would be replaced with Morehead State.

Now it is official that the Cats will face off with the Eagles in an MTE being hosted in Lexington.

Jeff Goodman took to Twitter to report that Kentucky may have the best MTE in the country and also confirmed that it would include Morehead State.

The event will include Kentucky, Morehead State, Richmond, and Detroit which happens to be the team that Brad Calipari plays for.

Last season, the Eagles started 4-0 but finished 13-19 overall and 7-11 in OVC play. They finished 316th in KenPom.

Leading scorers Jordan Walker and Damion Hinson are gone. Their top returning player is sophomore forward Tyzhaun Claude, who averaged 9.5 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.

Richmond and Kentucky will both be ranked in the top 15 creating a very interesting event to keep an eye on in the upcoming season.
