The Kentucky Wildcats (2-4) put up a valiant effort in their showdown with No. 5 Georgia (4-1), but the offensive woes once again proved costly as the Dawgs held on for a 14-3 win.
Looking to give this offense a spark to pull off the huge upset, Kentucky turned to Auburn transfer Joey Gatewood at quarterback as Terry Wilson was inactive with a wrist injury. Though he had some nice moments, Gatewood was unable to ignite an offense continues to cost Kentucky in close games.
Kentucky’s defense put up a heck of a performance to hold Georgia to just 14 points and under 350 yards of total offense, especially with how little the offense did (three points and under 250 total yards).
The Cats now are two games under .500 as they hit the bye week before hosting Vanderbilt on Nov. 14.
