NCAA Football: Florida at Mississippi Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

Good Morning, Big Blue Nation. We have another beautiful fall football Saturday upon us.

The Kentucky Wildcats had a disappointing second half against the Auburn Tigers last Saturday that culminated to a 29-13 defeat in Alabama. Today the Cats have the opportunity to get back on track against the Ole Miss Rebels.

The Rebels fell to the Florida Gators 51-35. That score tells you just about all you need to know about Kiffin’s football team: a lot of offense, not a lot of defense.

This is an intriguing match up for the Cats as they look to get their offense back on track after looking anemic in the second half against Auburn. Terry Wilson will be the focal point for many Kentucky fans as the QB struggled to hold onto the ball. Both of his turnovers last week were backbreakers for the Cats and he will be looking to shore up that aspect of his game.

This is the perfect game for Kentucky to get their offense going and fix their mistakes.

The same goes for the defense. This is a proving ground game as Auburn pushed them around in the second half, Ole Miss is full of speed and explosiveness but the Kentucky front seven should be able to live in the backfield as the Ole Miss offensive line is nothing to write home about.

I am picking Kentucky to win 30-20. If they lose, I’m afraid it’s going to be a long season. Not much wiggle room in this SEC only schedule.

How Louisville experience can help UK beat Ole Miss | Courier-Journal- Ole Miss is a very similar team to the Louisville Cardinals last season: weapons on offense, lousy on defense and in the trenches.

Cats welcome Ole Miss the Lexington | UK Athletics- It’s the home opener and it’s going to be strange without tailgating and a limited number of fans.

Lebron James and Anthony Davis are reaching Shaq/Kobe heights | ESPN- AD had 32 points in another dominating win over the Miami Heat. I think Davis has a strong argument for best player on the planet.

College football picks | CBS- This is the best weekend of the season so far and there is a lot of gambling to be done today.

College football bold predictions | USA Today- If Auburn does win at Georgia then that would make Kentucky fans feel better about that loss. I felt that Auburn was super ordinary throughout most of that game.

Hall of Famer Bob Gibson loses bout with cancer at 84 | St. Louis Dispatch- It was a sad night for Cardinals fans as they found out that one of their greats had passed away.
