ESPN 680 Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Postgame Show: Cats fall to Missouri

A historically bad offensive performance halted the UK win streak at two games.

There’s no way to put lipstick on this pig. The Kentucky Wildcats put forth one of the worst efforts I have ever seen from a Mark Stoops team on Saturday. The Missouri Tigers were able to do whatever they wanted in their rushing attack and they stopped the Cats dead in their tracks on offense.

UK was feeling a little too good about themselves after the monumental win against the Tennessee Volunteers in Neyland Stadium. They backed that win up with a lifeless, putrid outing that may have ended any talk of going .500 or better.

Missouri was counted as a win. Kentucky had beaten them five straight times. They were favored on the road and, on paper, they have a better team.

But hats off to Eli Drinkwitz as he thoroughly outcoached, outschemed, and outclassed the Mark Stoops and Eddie Gran. Drinkwitz is a first year head coach out of App. State and took over a Missouri football team that was in dire straights. Now he’s 2-2 on the season and the Mizzou fanbase has to feel pretty good about their future.

For Kentucky fans, Eddie Gran is once again the main topic of discussion. We get into that, the QB carousel, the inability to give Christopher Rodriguez the damn ball, and one strange press conference from Mark Stoops.
