UK getting predictions for Bryce Hopkins with decision coming soon

It sounds like the former Louisville commit will decide soon with Kentucky being the favorite.

After four-star forward Bryce Hopkins decommitted from the Louisville Cardinals in August, the rival Kentucky Wildcats became the consensus favorites for his services.

Though things got a little complicated since then, it appears Kentucky is still in front for the talented recruit.

Last week, both Travis Graf and David Sisk of Rivals’ Cats Illustrated changed their future cast projections from Kentucky to undecided. However, both changed their picks back to Kentucky on Monday. As of Tuesday morning, Kentucky has 86% of the Rivals FutureCast picks.

At 247 sports, all 10 publisher crystal ball projections still favor the Cats, including a recent prediction from recruiting guru Eric Bossi.

In addition, Hopkins’ father recently told KSR that Bryce’s decision will be coming soon.

I would say probably a couple weeks, I’m thinking,” he said. “Yeah, probably in a couple weeks, Bryce will want to be committed. … He’s going to decide from that final nine.”

Hopkins released a list a top nine list of schools’ on August 30 that included Kentucky, Michigan, Iowa State, Texas, Oregon, California, Illinois and Providence. He had plans to cut the list to five, but as of now, has not cut down the list from nine.

The power forward is ranked as the 30th overall recruit in the nation for 2021 by Rivals and ranked 39th by 247sports.

UK still has just one prospect committed for 2021 in four-star guard Nolan Hickman.
