Well, it hasn’t been the start that most thought for the Kentucky Wildcats football team.
The defense currently ranks last in passing efficiency and, as a result, the team stands at 0-2 on the season.
However, there are still plenty of opportunities for UK to turn it around. There are also a lot of positives that we’ve seen from Kentucky in their first two games.
The main positive would be their rushing attack. Everyone knew it’d be their strength coming into the season, but being able to rush for 400+ yards in one game as a team is extremely impressive.
Quarterback Terry Wilson showed a big step up in his ability to read his blocks while running on Saturday against the Ole Miss Rebels. He also made some very timely throws that helped push Kentucky to overtime.
While the Cats’ defense has looked bad over it’s first two games, they are still loaded with talent and experience. I fully expect this team to break through and make major improvements this week against Mississippi State.
The Bulldogs are sitting at 1-1 this season, with a victory over defending champs LSU to start and a loss to Arkansas last week. Yes, you read that right.
Coming into the season with a new coach in Mike Leach, no one really knew what to expect from this Mississippi State team. They are a true wild card as it stands who can beat just about anybody but also lose to just about anybody. The talent is there but it needs to be molded.
The Cats currently stand as a -1.5 point favorite heading into Saturday’s game. Who do you have winning this matchup? Vote below!
