Rhyne Howard has done it again.
For the second straight game, Howard had a career scoring night. But this time, she also tied the UK women’s record with 43 points to lead the 14th-ranked Wildcats to an 81-71 win at Alabama. That tied the school record of Jennifer O’Neill, who scored 43 points against Baylor on December 6, 2013.
The sophomore guard from Tennessee played 39 minutes and made 14/21 shots from the field, including 7/11 three-balls. The seven triples tied her own school record as well. She also led the team with six rebounds.
Howard has become the first player in school history to record five straight games with at least 25 points. She also became the first player since Makayla Epps in 2017 to have back-to-back 30-point games.
The Wildcats also got 11 points from Sabrina Haines and 10 from Amanda Paschal to improve to 13-2 overall and 2-1 in SEC play.
Up next, UK faces Florida in Gainesville on Sunday at noon ET on ESPNU.
