The college football season is over for the Kentucky Wildcats, but their Belk Bowl triumph is still fresh within the minds of Big Blue Nation.
After all, it was one of the wildest wins in the Mark Stoops era and in the Cats’ bowl history. A back-and-forth slobberknocker with Virginia Tech came down to the final moments with Kentucky trailing 30-24.
With 15 seconds left, Lynn Bowden hit Josh Ali in the back of the end zone for the go-ahead score to cap off an 85-yard drive that took over eight minutes of game time.
Then, the defense sealed the deal by returning a fumble to the house as time expired to give Kentucky a 37-30 victory.
Now, the fine folks at Kentucky Wildcats TV have released a fantastic behind-the-scenes look at the Cats’ journey to Charlotte and the thrilling contest that would ensue.
