Bam Adebayo has quickly become one of the gems that the 2017 NBA Draft provided for the NBA. Selected 14th overall by the Miami Heat, Adebayo was a low-end role player for a middle-of-the-pack franchise that was still rebuilding from the departure of Lebron James.
Earlier this summer, the Heat traded Hassan Whiteside to Portland so they could free up cap space for Jimmy Butler. This move, of course, created room for Adebayo to ascend as a starter. And the former Kentucky Wildcat has done just that and more.
In his third season, Adebayo has nearly doubled his points per game average from his first and second year. The Heat’s young star is averaging a double-double of 15.5 points and 10.7 rebounds per contest. Adebayo’s ability to handle the basketball, run the floor and grow at both ends of the court are a testament to his hard work and commitment to a quality organization.
Joining Adebayo this season is former Wildcat Tyler Herro, as the Heat are “coincidentally” 26-10 and sit as the third-seed in the Eastern Conference.
