Kahlil Whitney leaning toward entering NBA Draft, per report

Sounds like Whitney is ready to be a pro, wherever that may be.

Kahlil Whitney Greg Goins - Sea of Blue

It would appear Kahlil Whitney is ready to be done with college.

According to Evan Daniels, Whitney is leaning toward entering the 2020 NBA Draft. Daniels initially reported that transferring to another college was the first choice for Whitney, but plans have changed for the former top-15 recruit.

This comes after a report surfaced that Whitney has not entered the transfer portal, which only adds fuel to the fire that he’s ready to be a pro and not move to another college.

It would probably be a mistake for Whitney to enter the draft after what we saw from him in 18 games with the Kentucky Wildcats, but at the same time, some kids just don’t want to be in school and would rather make a living playing hoops now.

If Whitney is to accomplish that, then he’d likely have to spend several years in the G-League or overseas before having a chance to make an NBA roster or even get a training camp invite for that matter.

Whatever Whitney decides, here’s to hoping he’s successful and happy.
