Happy Birthday to our very own Kentucky Wildcats, and Miami Heat, star Tyler Herro. And to celebrate the Bucket’s birthday, here is an insane stat: Tyler Herro holds the record for most points by a teenager in the history of the Miami Heat franchise.
Most points as a teenager, Heat history:
— Tim Reynolds (@ByTimReynolds) January 20, 2020
Tyler Herro, 509 in 39 games
Justise Winslow, 442 in 69 games
Michael Beasley, 429 in 33 games
Dorell Wright, 18 in 10 games
That's the whole list.
Herro turns 20 today. The Heat are teen-free once again.
Herro shattered fellow Heat teammate Justice Winslow’s record in 30 less games.
Now, the Heat have always been one of the more veteran franchises in the league, so the list is a little ‘meh.’ But, to outscore both Michael Beasley and Justice Winslow as a teenager is quite impressive for a player that many people saw as a two-year player at Kentucky.
Herro is averaging 13.1 points per game this season on 41% shooting and 39% percent from behind the arc. Herro has been a valuable asset for the Heat in his first season, playing alongside fellow Wildcat Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler. Those three have formed a mini ‘Big Three’ down in Miami, especially with Bam playing his way into All-Star status.
He truly is a bucket.
