Former Kentucky Wildcats big man Wenyen Gabriel is on the move from Sacramento as he was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers this weekend, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Portland has traded Kent Bazemore and Anthony Tolliver and two second- round picks to Sacramento for Trevor Ariza, Wendell Gabriel and Caleb Swanigan, source tells ESPN.

Wenyen has had a slow start to his NBA career, being on a two-way contract with the Sacramento Kings. Unfortunately for Gabriel, he has spent more time in the G-League than on the Kings’ NBA roster.
In the NBA games he has played, however, he is averaging 1.7 points per game on 35% shooting. In the G-League this season, Gabriel has been putting up 19.3 points per game and adding 7 rebounds per game to that.
Wenyen has been able to showcase what he can truly be in the league while playing for the Stockton Kings, albeit, against ‘lesser’ competition. Wenyen has also been shooting the ball well in the G-League this season, shooting 46% from three.
Gabriel will be paired up with another former Wildcat in Skal Labissiere, who currently plays in Portland.
Also, don’t worry, Woj fixed his typo:
