Cliff Omoruyi cuts list to 5

The four-star center has previously called Kentucky his ‘dream school.’

2020 four-star center Cliff Omoruyi has cut his list of schools to five and the Kentucky Wildcats make the cut.

Omoruyi has gone on record saying that Kentucky is his dream school, and supposedly even shed a couple tears of joy when he earned an offer from John Calipari and Kentucky.

Omoruyi is rated as the No. 48 overall player in the class of 2020, according to 247 Sports. Omoruyi is out of Roselle, New Jersey and is currently playing his high school ball at Roselle Catholic, the same as current Wildcat Kahlil Whitney.

Kentucky and John Calipari has done a good job at keeping the New Jersey-Kentucky pipeline rock solid, as Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Isaiah Briscoe, Nick Richards, and Kahlil Whitney are all from New Jersey. Current Kentucky commit Lance Ware also hails from Camden, NJ.

Omoruyi has yet to take an official visit to Lexington, or anywhere other than Auburn for that matter. But I will be safe to assume that an official is in the works.

There is not too much to base any crystal ball predictions on, as there are only four in for the talented center. But just going by a small sample size, it seems like it might be a Kentucky vs Arizona State battle. But, with Omoruyi being from the Northeast, it could be difficult to pull him out of there against the likes of UConn and a much improved Rutgers program.

But, I certainly like Kentucky’s chances of landing Big Cliff.
