Sunday Quickies: Greg Brown Edition

The highly ranked forward and his dad had a great visit to Kentucky this weekend.

Yesterday wasn’t just a good day for the Kentucky Basketball program due to the team taking down Alabama at Rupp Arena. It seems that Kentucky also made a good impression on 2020 top-10 recruit Greg Brown and his father, who were visiting Lexington for the weekend.

Brown, a 6’9” forward prospect from Texas, has been a heavy Kentucky target for a while and the Cats have long been thought to be in the mix, but at least one recruiting analyst thinks Brown’s visit to Kentucky this weekend may have shifted some momentum into UK’s favor.

Chad Lykins, a Duke recruiting analyst, logged a pick to Kentucky for Brown last night, the first non-Texas pick to be logged into Brown’s profile on 247 Sports. Of the six picks on the crystal ball, Texas holds five, while Kentucky now holds one.

Brown’s visit to Kentucky was capped off with the game yesterday, and it seems like Brown’s dad fits well into the BBN (and may even be a good energy boost for Rupp Arena) based off this video from Kentucky Sports Radio’s Jack Pilgrim.

While momentum may be riding high, the Cats still face several challenges in the recruitment of Brown, namely the Texas Longhorns, the hometown team, as well as Memphis, Auburn, and Michigan.

If Brown ends up committing to Kentucky, he will join Isaiah Jackson and Lance Ware in the frontcourt for a loaded 2020 recruiting class.

Come on down, Mr. Brown!
