It was close, but Kentucky eked out a nine-point win over Alabama on Saturday afternoon.
The Wildcats impressed from 3-point range while keeping the Crimson Tide under wraps from beyond the arc. That shooting success gave UK its 1,000th SEC win all-time, and improved the team’s record on the year to 12-3 (3-0 SEC).

The Wildcats led by as many as 15 points in the second half, but Alabama took advantage of a UK cold spell to stay in the game up until the final moments.
Immanuel Quickley led the Wildcats offensively with 19 points. He hit five of UK’s nine 3-pointers to help them post a rare impressive performance from deep. Ashton Hagans also impressed with 15 points and one made 3-pointer.
Nick Richards continued his breakout with a 13-point, 11-rebound performance. Seven of his eight career double-doubles have come this season.
UK heads to South Carolina to take on the Gamecocks Wednesday night.
