Fresh off a road victory over Georgia, the No. 14 Kentucky Wildcats returned to Rupp Arena Saturday and beat the Alabama Crimson Tide, 76-67.
Immanuel Quickley scored the game’s final five points, including a dagger three-ball with a minute left to finish with 19, while Ashton Hagans flirted with a triple-double with 15 points, nine assists and nine rebounds.
The Wildcats, who are now 3-0 in SEC play, led by 15 early in the second half before a furious rally by the Crimson Tide got them to within 63-60 with just over five minutes remaining.
But Quickley nailed a triple from the right corner with 4:33 left before Hagans hit his own three-ball to give the Wildcats a 69-62 edge. But Alabama would get to within 70-67 before Kentucky held on for the nine-point win.
Next up, Kentucky is on the road to face the South Carolina Gamecocks on Wednesday.
