John Calipari has already assembled the top recruiting class in 2020, but he isn’t done yet.

Arguably the best recruit in 2020 or 2021 is Jonathan Kuminga, who is widely expected to reclassify into 2020 and be on a college campus next season.

Instead of celebrating New Year’s Day, Calipari is instead on the recruiting trail, which includes a visit with Kuminga today, per Andrew Slater.

Kuminga is the consensus top-ranked player in 2021, and many experts believe he’ll remain No. 1 if/when he reclassifies into 2020.

In November, Kuminga announced his top 10, which included the Wildcats, Duke Blue Devils, Auburn Tigers, Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Bulldogs, Maryland Terrapins, Memphis Tigers, Michigan Wolverines, Texas Tech Red Raiders and Washington Huskies.

Duke was viewed as the favorite early on in his recruitment, while Texas Tech also picked up steam after landing his brother, Joel Ntambwe, as a transfer from UNLV. LSU also picked up significant buzz but didn’t make his top 10. It’s been hard to gauge how much of a chance Kentucky has in this recruitment.

However, Calipari and his staff have seen Kuminga multiple times during the fall and winter, so they cleary think they have a chance at the top-ranked recruit, especially if Calipari is spending on holiday to see the St. Patrick (NJ) product. Calipari previously visited him in late October.
