The Kentucky Wildcats get their second win of the season over the Eastern Michigan Eagles, 38-17, but it came at a price. Mid-way through the third quarter, Terry Wilson was drug down by a horse collar tackle, and stayed down.
Wilson was eventually braced up and carted off the field. You don’t want to assume the worst, but it’s hard not to think about the possibility of Wilson missing a significant length of time.
However, Sawyer Smith stepped up in a big way. Tossing two touchdown passes in his short stint in the game.
Still, prayers up for our QB1 Terry Wilson.
Next up? The Florida Gators in front of a sold-out Kroger Field
Here’s what social media had to say:

Well, hot damn, Ahmad Wagner is a bona fide dude now. This time he drew the PI flag AND caught it on the same play. Broke free, 54-yard TD from the backup QB, Sawyer Smith.

The cart is out for Terry Wilson in what looks to be a knee injury. Time to see what Troy transfer Sawyer Smith is all about. It’s a situation you don’t want to be in, but Smith has big game experience, including his best game being in the Trojans bowl game last year.

Kash is motioning for the EMU guys to come over to the UK sideline. He’s mega pissed.

Since 1993, the best records by a UK quarterback in their first 15 career starts at the school: 12-3, Terry Wilson; 10-5, Stephen Johnson; 9-6, Mike Hartline

Lotta love for Terry Wilson as he rides off on a cart with his left leg immobilized. Crowd loudly chanting his name. But man, the outlook for UK is bleak without him for any extended period.
