Kahlil Whitney: “We coming for No. 9”

It’s on.

Let’s just say one of the newest additions to the Kentucky basketball team has high expectations for this upcoming season.

Five-star small forward Kahlil Whitney went to Instagram to let fans know that the Cats are coming for No. 9. The Wildcats haven’t won a national championship since 2012, and Whitney thinks this is the season they get title No. 2 for John Calipari.

Here’s the video of Whitney saying “We coming for No. 9. We coming for No. 9 for sure.”

Kentucky has a strong roster this upcoming season and will be a top-five team in most preseason polls.

Whitney, the 11th best player in the Class of 2019, will help lead the charge. A 190-pound small forward looks like he’s been beefing up this offseason as players will begin putting in work both on the court and the weight room.

Having been committed for over a year, Whitney is just one of three five-star recruits that’ll be in Lexington. He’ll join fellow small forward Keion Brooks and point guard Tyrese Maxey as those prepared to take that step in the bright lights of Rupp Arena.

This team has every opportunity to win March Madness next season. With a few returning and the nation’s second-best recruiting class coming in, UK should be among the best of the best this season.

Whiney, who seems ready to work, should be a huge part of the plan as well.
