Kennedy Chandler getting visit from John Calipari

Might a scholarship offer be coming?

HoopFocus

As of now, Devin Askew is the only 2021 point guard with an offer from UK, and he may ultimately reclassify into 2020.

That’s why it should be only a matter of time until John Calipari finds another 2021 floor general he wants to offer a scholarship to, and that may end up being Kennedy Chandler.

According to Jake Weingarten, Chandler is getting a visit from Calipari on Monday. This comes after UK visited Chandler on Sept. 19.

A 6-1, 160-pound guard out of Tennessee, Chandler already has a host of scholarship offers, including the Kansas Jayhawks, Tennessee Volunteers, Florida Gators, Memphis Tigers and Oregon Ducks. He’s ranked 16th nationally by 247 Sports composite.

Chandler is coming off a breakout sophomore season where he led his Briarcrest Christian team to a state championship. He was even named MVP of the state tournament. Then over the summer, Chandler got an invitation to try out for USA Basketball’s U16 team.

Recently, 2021 forward Paolo Banchero said Chandler was someone he’d like to team up with in college. UK is also strongly in the mix for Banchero, if not the favorite, so getting Chandler could only solidify that.

For now, there aren’t any predictions from 247 Sports or Rivals as to where Chandler will land. Perhaps an offer from UK would shake things up.
