Jay Scrubb commits to Louisville

The Kentucky native, who had UK on his list, could end up in the 2020 NBA Draft.

The Louisville Cardinals just picked up a big commitment in the form of Jay Scrubb, who recently announced his final 10 with UK on the list.

Scrubb is quietly one of the better recruits in 2020, but you don’t hear about him much because he’s not a high school prospect. Instead, the four-star shooting guard is regarded as the best junior college prospect for 2020.

Currently at John Logan College, Scrubb is actually a Kentucky native who played at Trinity High School. But after getting little interest from Division I colleges, he opted for the JUCO route, and was getting interest from college across the nation.

A 6-6, 220-pound guard, Scrubb averaged 19.5 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 blocks in his first season at John A. Logan. He currently holds offers from the Cardinals, Memphis Tigers, Alabama Crimson Tide, Texas Tech Red Raiders and Oklahoma State Cowboys.

Back when Scrubb was in high school, Scrubb told the Courier-Journal that UK was a school he wanted to be recruited by and potentially attend, so it’s no surprise to see the Wildcats make his top 10 list.

However, UK never showed any real interest in him, and it’s unlikely that would have with Terrence Clarke and Brandon Boston already in the fold while Devin Askew and Cade Cunningham are still on the board.

Back in June, Evan Daniels reported that Scrubb will be eligible for the 2020 NBA Draft, and that’s the route Scrubb may ultimately pursue, so UK may end up not missing on anything in this recruitment.
