As good as UK’s 2020 class already is, the Wildcats still need to get 2-3 more big men to feel good about the 2020-21 team.
Nate Sestina will graduate, while both Nick Richards and EJ Montgomery could be in the pros next year, so it’s imperative UK gets more frontcourt help. Lance Ware is the only true big committed right now.
One potential option is Clifford Omoruyi, a four-star center out of New Jersey who already holds a UK offer, though it may not be a commitable offer.
Either way, Omoruyi has announced his new list of 13 schools in consideration, and the Wildcats made the cut.
Thank you to all the schools that showed interest in me. I will be committing after basketball season #stayonthegrind #offers #basketball #focus #favored #humble #lol #themarathoncontinues pic.twitter.com/fDhCrzwyI8

247 Sports recruiting guru Andre Slater expects Clifford to make a decision sometime in 2020, so we’ve still got a ways to go before a commitment is made.
The 6-11, 230-pound Omoruyi plays at Roselle Catholic, where he was a teammate of current Wildcat Kahlil Whitney. Among the schools he holds offers from include the UCLA Bruins, Indiana Hoosiers, Florida Gators, Auburn Tigers, Arizona Wildcats, Louisville Cardinals, Georgia Bulldogs and Memphis Tigers among others.
That kind of offer sheet tells you just how talented Omoruyi is. His highest recruiting ranking is 41st overall at 247. Though he’s very raw offensively at this stage, his athleticism and length make him a tantalizing prospect, and he’s one of the best shot-blockers in the 2020 class.
That’s something UK has been missing in recent years, and they need plenty frontcourt help for next year. It’s good news for UK that Omoruyi won’t decide until the spring/summer, giving them more time to see what guys like Isaiah Todd, Greg Brown, JJ Traynor and Isaiah Jackson decide to do.
