For those not of the younger generation, former Kentucky Wildcats EDGE rusher Josh Allen wasn’t the only all-time great pass rusher Kentucky has seen come through their program. Oliver Barnett, who played his college ball in the mid-80’s, was the program’s all-time sack leader until Allen surpassed the stat last season. On Thursday, Barnett was recognized as a 2019 SEC Legend. The former All-American (and of course All-SEC) standout played six seasons in the NFL, suiting up for the Falcons, Bills and 49ers. He made a trip to the 1994 Super Bowl with the Bills as well. Now living in Lexington with his family, Barnett gets to watch his son Elijah suit up for the Wildcats playing the same position he did 30 years ago.
