Kentucky has had a hot and early start to building the 2020 basketball recruiting class.
However, the class has also been fairly small in stature. Outside of Lance Ware, the cupboard appears to be bare for the 2020-2021 season in the frontcourt for the Wildcats. And it seems that yet another big man option has been taken off the table.
And, for those wondering about Paolo Banchero and if he could still reclassify, it isn’t happening. He’s staying in 2021 no matter what.

Visits North Carolina next weekend.
According to Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers.com, 2021 power forward Paolo Banchero has finally put an end to any rumors that he would be joining the 2020 class.
Banchero is the No. 3 recruit in the 2021 class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. And with Kentucky needing help in the frontcourt in the 2020 class, it could have been huge for the Wildcats if they were able to pull him into reclassification.
Kentucky will already be receiving some help from the 2021 class in the form of Terrence Clarke. Jonathan Kuminga is still rumored to be an option, as well.
Banchero has set his visit schedule for the fall, and he will be in Lexington for Big Blue Madness in October. You would always prefer to be either the first or the last visit, but having a recruit experience the environment of Big Blue Madness is always a plus for John Calipari and his staff.

As a Seattle native, the University of Washington is getting a lot of buzz as the hometown school, and they have all eight predictions at 247 Sports. However, the recent buzz has been in favor of Kentucky, including two recent Rivals predictions for the Wildcats.
And as you can see by his official visit schedule, he is obviously interested in going somewhere away from home, which is good news for Kentucky.
