College basketball recruiting is a high stakes game, especially at a place like Kentucky.

Landing top notch players is a must at Kentucky in the era of one-and-done, and missing out on top recruits can be detrimental for the upcoming season.

This year is no different. That’s why several Kentucky targets were listed in an article from Rivals’ Eric Bossi about the most high stakes recruitments in the class of 2020.

Kentucky targets Cade Cunningham, Josh Christopher, and Greg Brown were the Kentucky targets that Bossi mentioned. Regarding those three, Kentucky is strongly in the mix for each of them but it may be the case that Kentucky isn’t the leader for any of the three.

Bossi seems to think the safe bet is Oklahoma State for Cunningham, which also seems to be the prevailing thought, but the recent rumors suggest that Cunningham is no lock to land in Stillwater.

On Brown, Bossi notes that he goes to school only 13 miles from the University of Texas but Kentucky is right in the thick of things along with Memphis, Auburn, and UNC.

And with Christopher, he was once considered a UK lean, but he has connections with several of his top schools. A brother at Arizona State, a relative on staff at Missouri, and other connections make Christopher’s recruitment pretty interesting. It says a lot that UK was considered the favorite at one point despite these connections.

Kentucky probably needs to land one of these three. Cunningham or Christopher could fill the point guard slot Kentucky is missing in this class while Brown would be a great addition to a frontcourt group where Kentucky will likely need to replace a lot.
