4-star OL decommits from Penn State following visit to UK

Big things poppin’ in Lexington.

Kentucky may be coming off a tough loss to Florida, but they made a big move with one of their top remaining 2020 targets over the weekend.

Four-star offensive lineman R.J. Adams is reopening his recruitment following a weekend trip to Lexington.

An Under Armour All-American Game invitee, Adams had committed to the Penn State Nittany Lions in April. However, Kentucky remained firm in its pursuit of the 12th-ranked offensive guard in 2020 via Rivals, and he took an official visit to Lexington for the Florida game. He decommitted from Penn State shortly thereafter.

Adams is a 6-3, 309-pound lineman from Woodbridge (VA) who also holds offers from the Alabama Crimson Tide, LSU Tigers, Oregon Ducks, Michigan State Spartans and Tennessee Volunteers among others.

It’s unclear when Adams’ next move is, but you have to think this is great news for Mark Stoops and his program. Seeing how Kentucky has one of the nation’s best offensive lines certainly has to help with this talented lineman.

Saturday was tough, but this program is still on the rise, and big-time recruits are taking notice.
