John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats picked up a much needed commit from 2020 big man Lance Ware.
Now that Kentucky has their 3rd commitment for the 2020 season, joining five-star guard Brandon Boston and four-star forward Cam’Ron Fletcher, this moves the Cats up to the #1 recruiting class as of now with the Virginia Cavaliers right behind them.
The 6-9, 215-pound forward is currently ranked as the No. 32 prospect and No. 5 power forward in the 2020 class by 247 Sports composite, which measures all of the major rankings.
The next potential commitment for the Cats will likely come Saturday when Terrence Clarke makes his college decision.

4⭐️ PF Lance Ware commits to the ‘Cats. I see a lot of EJ Montgomery in him, except Ware has a motor that doesn’t stop. https://t.co/rInznm1NZF

Lance Ware had a good spring & a great summer. @NYRhoops HC Andy Borman gives major credit to his HS coach, former NBA player Rick Brunson.

“During the June period he was with Coach Brunson and then came back to us in July a different player.” @Andy_Borman

Congrats to Camden HS's Lance Ware on his commitment to Kentucky. This 6'9" dynamo can explode to the basket with the best of them and is long and aggressive rebounding and defending. His shot comes and goes but his upside is sky high.

With the commitment of Lance Ware today, Kentucky now has pledges from the No. 16 player in the 2020 Class, B.J. Boston, the No. 31 player in Ware, and the No. 39 player in Cam’Ron Fletcher. Terrence Clarke should come aboard this Sunday. He is No. 2 in the 2021 Class.

Huge for Kentucky to have the core of its 2020 recruiting class in the fold by the fall. Going to lose a lot after this season and you don't want to have to walk that tight rope without a safety net in the spring.
