Thursday Quickies: Lance Ware Decision Day Edition

The 2020 forward announces his decision at 4 p.m. ET today.

Knew When Media

Today seems like a good day for a basketball commitment!

That might just be the case for John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats, as 4-star forward Lance Ware will be announcing his college decision this afternoon at 4 p.m. and the buzz is that the Wildcats will be the choice.

Ware, a 6’9” forward from New Jersey, ranks as the 32nd best player in the 2020 class by 247 Sports and could be Kentucky’s first frontcourt commitment in the class, joining wings Brandon Boston and Cam’Ron Fletcher.

Ware averaged 11.4 points and 6.0 rebounds a game with the NY Rens on the Nike EYBL Circuit. According to Evan Daniels, adding Ware would move Kentucky to the top class in the country.

With 10 Crystal Ball picks in Kentucky’s favor, it’s hard to see a scenario in which Ware picks anywhere other than Kentucky, but he has taken recent visits to Ohio State and Michigan. I feel pretty confident that Kentucky’s 2020 class will gain its third member this afternoon with the chance to add a fourth in Terrence Clarke in just a couple days.

Cal isn’t done yet!

Really cool move by Lynn Bowden.
