UK is expected to land a commitment from 2020 big man Lance Ware on Thursday. However, that isn’t stopping John Calipari from finding another big to pair with Ware in what’s shaping up to be a great 2020 class for the Cats.
According to Ben Roberts of the Herald-Leader, five-star forward Greg Brown is getting a visit from Calipari today.
John Calipari expected to start day 3 of the fall recruiting period by visiting with top-10 prospect Greg Brown in Texas on Wednesday. UK coach has already been to Florida, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Atlanta and St. Louis this week.

Brown, who plays at Vandegrift High School in Texas, is ranked 6th overall in 2020 by Rivals, 8th by ESPN and 9th by 247 Sports. The 6-9, 195-pound big man holds offers from nearly every blue-blood program, including the Wildcats, North Carolina Tar Heels and Kansas Jayhawks among others.
But it’s the hometown Texas Longhorns that was viewed as the favorite, though Shaka Smart being on the hot seat will make things interesting come the spring, where Brown is expected to make a decision. UK is already going to be a major player for Brown, but Smart having another bad season and getting fired could really push Texas down the list and help someone like UK come out on top.
But even if that happens, North Carolina and Memphis are also viewed as real threats to pry to the top-10 recruit out of the Longhorn State.
Here are some recent highlights of Brown in action to get an idea of just how special of an athlete he is:
