Kentucky fans have confidence in their team, despite losing Terry Wilson

Week two of the college football season is in the book, and for the Kentucky Wildcats, it was both a winning and losing week.

The good news was that the Cats took care of business Saturday night with a 38-17 victory over the Eastern Michigan Eagles. The bad news was the team lost starting quarterback Terry Wilson for the season with a torn patellar tendon.

Heading into a crucial SEC East showdown with the Florida Gators Saturday, the Big Blue Nation is still confident in the direction of their team according to SB Nation’s latest Fan Pulse survey.

Every single Kentucky fan who voted said they feel confident in the team’s direction after two weeks.

Despite losing Wilson, it appears Kentucky fans believe former Troy Trojans starting quarterback Sawyer Smith can get the job done and lead the Wildcats to another quality season.

As for national voters, they don’t feel as confident in Kentucky, as for the third straight week, the Cats were left out of the SB Nation Fan Pulse top 25.

The biggest argument that can be made is that Kentucky deserves a spot over Mississippi State. Kentucky rolled over the Bulldogs a year ago and have won their first two games by double digits against quality opponents from the MAC, while Mississippi State struggled beat Louisiana Lafayette, then defeated Southern Miss at home. Outside of that however, it seems fair that the Wildcats were left out.

Last week, Kentucky fans agreed that they should not be a top 25 team, as they did not crack the UK fan top 25 poll. This week, the fanbase felt the same way. Here’s a look at how Kentucky fans voted.
