The Kentucky Wildcats have taken another hit due to the injury bug.
This time, it’s wide receiver Isaiah Epps, who suffered a fracture in his foot and will miss about six weeks of action, offensive coordinator Eddie Gran revealed on Tuesday.
Epps was vying for a starting spot at the X wide receiver spot. His injury now opens the door for guys like Ahmad Wagner, Allen Dailey and Bryce Oliver to win it since Epps will almost certainly miss the regular-season opener vs. Toledo, and he’ll probably miss the next week vs. Eastern Michigan.
A former 3-star recruit in the Class of 2017, Epps hasn’t made much of a mark thus far in his college career. As a true freshman, Epps caught just four passes for 55 yards.
As a sophomore last season, Epps hauled in eight grabs for 76 yards. He had a career-high three catches in the Senior Day win over Middle Tennessee.
