Monday Quickies: Camron Fletcher Edition

2020 recruiting hot stove breakdown today in the Quickies!

Tipton Edits

It was another big weekend for Kentucky Wildcats basketball as John Calipari secured yet another commitment for 2020. Just a week removed from the Brandon Boston commitment, Camron Fletcher followed suit and pledged to UK on his official visit.

Fletcher is a four star forward that shines on the court thanks to his length and athleticism. He can guard multiple positions on defense and he attacks the rim with ferocity. After watching Fletcher’s highlight reel, I won’t be surprised if he earns a fifth star by the time the recruiting cycle is over.

There is more recruiting news to get to so let’s not waste anymore time!

Tweets of the Day

This tweet is from top five 2020 prospect Jalen Green. Could Cal get a big gift on Christmas Day?

Tom Brady and Drew Brees should be making more money than all these dudes.

Love it!

Quickies

Cats land top 50 recruit | SDS- Fletcher had offers from Alabama, Missouri, North Carolina, and Michigan State. He’s from St. Louis so obviously this is a big blow to Mizzou.

JT Thor is reclassifying to 2020 | Stock Risers- Thor was the number eight player in the 2021 class and will now be in the 2020 class. Thor was the first player that Calipari offered for 2021.

Lance Ware sets final five | 247- The 6’9 power forward out of 2020 has UK in his last five and the odds are good that the Cats land him.

Jalen Green sets decision date | Cats Pause- The number three player in the 2020 class is going to announce on Christmas day. Green and Josh Christopher have talked about teaming up at UK and things are looking positive that that will actually happen.

Power Rankings of SEC QBs | SDS- Terry Wilson sits at number nine on the list which is better than how he’s being ranked by other outlets.

I’ll buy any Wilson stock that you’re willing to sell. I wrote a couple months ago that Wilson was primed for a breakout year. The physical ability is absolutely there. Contrary to what last year suggested, he can throw. I don’t doubt that. Hearing about the leg injury he dealt with in the middle of last season did change my outlook on him a bit. It makes me understand why the running numbers were so pedestrian in the meat of the season. I like Wilson’s chances of potentially breaking into that top 7 group as long as he’s healthy.

That’s good praise for Terry Wilson.

Best 23 players in the NBA under 23 | Bleacher Report- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander checks in at 10, Jamal Murray at 6, Devin Booker at 5, and De’Aaron Fox checks in at 3. Zion Williamson is number 2 and he hasn’t played a second of NBA basketball. BARF.

The 16 teams that have a shot at the college football playoffs | CBS- Pencil in Bama and Clemson for two of the spots. That leaves 14 teams fighting for the remaining spots.
