The 2020 Kentucky Wildcats basketball recruiting class is starting to take shape.

Only a week after the Cats landed a commitment from five-star guard BJ Boston, four-star forward CaM’ron Fletcher announced his commitment to Kentucky.

While Calipari has two big-name prospects lined up, the work is far from done. One of the players Kentucky is pursuing is five-star guard Jalen Green from Napa, California.

The five-star guard is ranked as the nation’s third best prospect for 2020, according to 247 Sports, only behind center Evan Mobley who’s considered a lock to chose the University of Southern California, and Cade Cunningham, who Kentucky is also looking to land but will likely end up at Oklahoma State.

On Sunday, Green tweeted that his commitment date will be on Christmas, as he will make his decision on December 25th of this year.

It would be odd for a recruit to make his college commitment on a holiday as big as Christmas, and the crying laughing emoji makes you wonder if he’s being serious. But for now, Green says he’s planning to commit on Christmas.

One school is now set to receive an outstanding Christmas present as Green is set to be a game-changer for whichever school that lands him.

As of now, the Memphis Tigers have an early leg up in the 247 Sports crystal ball, which has them earning 67% of the crystal ball predictions, but the most recent prediction was for the Wildcats. There are also four predictions at Rivals, all of which are for Memphis.

However, with a commitment not set to take place for another four and a half months, it is clear Green has yet to make a decision. Thus, Calipari and company have plenty of time to try to persuade the California guard to rock Kentucky blue.
