Emotions always run high on the first game of the college football season.
Before today’s game against Toledo there was some extra sentiments on the field as Terry Wilson had a somber embrace with Janet Hermes, the mother of the late Jared Lorenzen. The UK legend tragically passed away on July 3rd of this year.
Wilson and Hermes met on the field and hugged ahead of Kentucky’s opening home game at Kroger Field.

Wilson also plans to wear Lorenzen themed cleats as a tribute for the game on October 12th against Arkansas.
There is no doubt that the Big Blue Nation will be riddled with emotion anytime that Jared Lorenzen pops into their mind. Moments like this will continue to provide some relief and it’s great to see Jared’s mother getting support from the current team.
A memorial is planned for Lorenzen when the Cats take on Arkansas on October 12th at Kroger Field.
