This year’s Big Blue Madness is shaping up to be one of the biggest recruiting events for UK in recent memory.
After all, we already know that Paolo Banchero (officially), Josh Christopher (unofficially) and potentially Jalen Green will be visiting that weekend.
Now, we can add five-star guard Cade Cunningham to the list of visitors for the big event. According to Rivals, Cunningham will take an official visit for the event, and he’s planning to make a fall decision.
It’s good to see UK hasn’t given up hope yet and will get him on campus for a big recruiting weekend. Ever since Cunningham’s brother was hired by Oklahoma State, they’ve been viewed as the heavy favorite.
Currently, every prediction at 247 Sports and Rivals is in favor of the Cowboys, but that’s not stopping schools like UK, North Carolina, Florida and Washington from making a push for the No. 2 overall recruit in 2020. All of those schools are getting official visits this fall.
Still, it’s hard to see the Montverde Academy product ending up anywhere other than Stillwater, but never say never. It’s not like UK has anything to lose by continuing to recruit him.
After all, Jalen Green is going to decide on Dec. 25. Josh Christopher probably won’t decide until the spring. And even if Terrence Clarke is able to reclassify from 2021, he too won’t likely make a decision until the spring or possibly summer.
With Cunningham set to commit in time for the fall signing period, he’ll be off the board before any of UK’s more realistic targets decide.
