The Kentucky coaching staff is already making moves in the 2021 recruiting class, and it has been reported that 2021 guard Kennedy Chandler is starting to get interest from big-name schools, including the Cats.
According to Jason Jordan of USA Today, the 6-1, 160-pound Chandler confirmed that the Duke Blue Devils, North Carolina Tar Heels, Louisville Cardinals, Tennessee Volunteers, Michigan Wolverines, Florida State Seminoles, USC Trojans and Kentucky Wildcats are all getting involved in his recruitment.
Most of those schools are planning on getting out to see the 6-1, 160-pound point guard at open gym next month. Chandler’s father told Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers.com that his son has scheduled visits to Kansas and Oklahoma.
Chandler is coming off a breakout sophomore season where he led his Briarcrest Christian team to a state championship. He was even named MVP of the tournament.
Over the summer, Chandler got an invitation to tryout for USA Basketball’s U16 team. He has already received a host of scholarship offers, including the Kansas Jayhawks, Florida Gators, Ole Miss Rebels, Vanderbilt Commodores and Oregon Ducks.
This will be an interesting recruitment to watch over the coming months to see who emerges as the favorite to land the 2021 guard from Memphis.
As of now, there are no predictions from 247 Sports or Rivals as to where Chandler will land.
