Kentucky Basketball 2019-20 Roster Set

Roster numbers, measurements and even a pronunciation guide.

UK Athletics

The 2019-20 Kentucky Wildcats Basketball roster is now set.

UK has released the official list of jersey numbers for every player entering next year, though the school made sure to note that the players’ heights and weights are unofficial. Even so, it is always good to see the first roster for the upcoming team, as it signals that next season is not too far away as Kentucky looks to contend for title No. 9.

There weren’t any major revelations from the first official roster for next season, but one somewhat notable measurement is freshman wing Kahlil Whitney being 6-6. He’s been listed as 6-7 by some outlets, and with UK thin in the frontcourt, Whitney could end up playing the 4 a lot this coming season. Obviously having more height makes that easier, but Whitney certainly has the frame to bang in the paint with his chiseled 210-pound body.

Another notable development is freshman wing Keion Brooks getting up to 205 pounds after being listed in the 185-195 range by most outlets. He too could end up spending a lot of his freshman season playing at the 4 to help offset the lack of depth when it comes to big men.

Sophomore point guard Ashton Hagans has bumped his weight up to 198 after being 190 last season. Pictures of him from summer workouts suggest the new weight is mostly, if not entirely muscle as he looks to become one of the best guards in all of college basketball next season.

Most of the new roster numbers have been previously announced, but new walk-on guard Riley Welch will wear No. 13.
