As the Kentucky Wildcats’ football season is just around the corner, one of their former stars is receiving plenty of snaps in the National Football League. Kentucky’s all-time touchdown leader, Benny Snell Jr., was drafted in the fourth round by the Steelers this spring.
With NFL preseason games underway, Snell has seen a heavy dose of playing time with the Steelers’ starters taking a majority of the plays off. Though the sample size is minimal, Snell indeed is sure to make the 53-man roster and looks poised to also play a role for the potential playoff contender.
Saturday night, though, Snell tweaked his groin during the team’s win against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin didn’t elaborate on Snell’s injury or even mention that his running back would miss any future games. However, considering groin injuries can be rather sensitive, any updates on Snell will be worth monitoring.
