Kentucky reveals jersey numbers for next season

Kentucky Baseball is searching for a few new coaches, Kentucky Football is killing it in the recruiting game, and Kentucky Basketball finally has everyone on campus to start putting their team together.

Now that everyone has arrived and the roster seems (probably) finalized, we now know the jersey numbers for the Kentucky Wildcats for the coming season.

• #1 Nate Sestina
• #2 Kahlil Whitney
• #3 Tyrese Maxey
• #4 Nick Richards
• #5 Immanuel Quickley
• #10 Johnny Juzang
• #11 Dontaie Allen
• #12 Keion Brooks
• #14 Brennan Canada
• #21 Zan Payne
• #23 EJ Montgomery

Of course, the new guys had to lay claim to their numbers, but we also see that Ashton Hagans has changed from #2 to #0. When he arrived at Kentucky last year, #0 was occupied by Quade Green. It seems as though he is more comfortable with the goose egg on his chest, so he made the change when the opportunity presented itself.

There are a lot of single digit jerseys on the rosters, and those guys are likely to see a lot of time on the floor. It is possible that the starting lineup could be #0, #1, #2, #3, and #4 at some point during the season, although I would bet money that the highest number on the roster, #23, will be looking to make the starting five as well.
