The recruitment of N’Faly Dante should be ending very soon, and Kentucky is firmly in the mix for the talented big man.

Dante is currently one of the top big men in the Class of 2020, but he’s attempting to reclassify into the 2019 class. The five-star center out of Kansas has been getting his academics in order over the summer, and the expectation is he’ll be able to make the jump and be playing college basketball next season.

Assuming Dante does reclassify, he’ll likely decide between the Kentucky Wildcats, LSU Tigers and Oregon Ducks, though the Tennessee Volunteers and Iowa State Cyclones have been trying to get into the mix.

The Tigers were initially viewed as the favorites, but when the Will Wade scandal emerged, they seemed to fall out of favor, especially with potential NCAA sanctions coming soon.

Oregon then became the trendy pick, and they seemed to be in the best shape as Dante drew closer to his reclassification and subsequent commitment.

But over the weekend, Kentucky began to pick up steam and may have even jumped into the lead for Rivals’ ninth-ranked player in 2020. If the Wildcats were to land Dante, it could propel their 2019 class into the No. 1 spot and bolster a frontcourt that needs more depth for next season.

More importantly, it would make Kentucky an even more dangerous national title threat for next season.

As for Oregon and LSU, they are fringe top-25 teams that become dark horse Final Four threats if they add a player like Dante, especially LSU with the amount of talent they already have coming back. They’d be a serious threat to repeat as SEC regular-season champs.

With fall classes set to begin in a few weeks, we won’t be waiting much longer for Dante to make a decision on where he’ll be playing college basketball. So, who do you think ultimately wins out for Dante?
