Kentucky is having a great weekend on the recruiting front with the addition of 2020 star Brandon Boston.
Might some more good news be coming soon?
With the recruiting focus on 2020 for the majority of colleges, Kentucky is one of a few programs still vying for 5-star center N’Faly Dante, who is attempting to reclassify and move into 2019. That’s expected to happen, but where he lands remains a mystery.
Kentucky is battling the Oregon Ducks and LSU Tigers for Dante, and it sounds like the Wildcats are in a better spot than given credit for, according to Rivals reporter David Sisk.
I’m hearing buzz that a decision on N’Faly Dante’s reclassification should be coming very, very soon. One source told me Kentucky’s chances are getting better and better. @KentuckyRivals @RowlandRIVALS

Adding to this, fellow Rivals reporter Eric Bossi just logged a prediction in favor of Kentucky.
To this point, Oregon and LSU had been getting more buzz with Dante, so this latest development is a bit of a surprise. Then again, we’ve seen many times that John Calipari and UK cannot be counted out in any recruitment, so if nothing else, it’s clear the Wildcats still have a real chance at winning this battle.
While Kentucky has some promising frontcourt pieces in Nick Richards, Nate Sestina and EJ Montgomery, they need one more big man for next season, and ideally the kind of shot-blocker that UK has been lacking in recent years. That’s exactly what Dante brings to the table, and he could be the missing piece to making the 2019-20 Wildcats a legitimate national title threat.
