UK has a new frontcourt target in the 2020 class.
On Friday, the Wildcats extended an offer to four-star forward Lance Ware, according to Jake Weingarten.
The 6-9, 215-pound Ware has been a new name in terms of UK’s 2020 targets, but he’s become a well-known recruit nationally over the summer. Rival’s Eric Bossi recently included Ware in his “Summertime Risers List”.
“Ware isn’t an off-the-radar guy. He’s been well known for some time, but I received more phone calls asking for information about Ware than any other player over the course of the past few weeks,” said Bossi.
The New Jersey product has made a big jump in the recruiting rankings, as he now sits at 41st overall at 247 Sports and 52nd at Rivals.
In addition to UK, Ware also holds offers from the Louisville Cardinals, Oregon Ducks, Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan Wolverines among others. The North Carolina Tar Heels and Kansas Jayhawks have also been showing interest recently.
Ware actually took an unofficial visit to UK for Big Blue Madness in 2018. He joins Isaiah Todd, Scottie Barnes, Cade Cunningham, Jalen Green, Sharife Cooper, Josh Christopher, Cliff Omoruyi, Cam’Ron Fletcher, BJ Boston and N’Faly Dante (pending a reclass to 2019) as uncommitted 2020 recruits with UK offers.
