The Kentucky Wildcats have finalized their 2019-20 non-conference schedule.
It became final on Thursday when the full Big 12/SEC Challenge matchups were announced, which feature the Wildcats facing the Texas Tech Red Raiders on the road on Jan. 25.
It will mark just the fifth all-time meeting between the two schools. It will also be the Wildcats’ second trip to Lubbock, Texas.
UK has won the previous four meetings between the programs, including the 89-73 victory on Dec. 22, 1965 in their only visit to Lubbock. The schools haven’t met since UK beat Texas Tech 83-68 in Cincinnati on Dec. 17, 1994.
With the addition of Texas Tech, UK’s 13 nonconference opponents in the upcoming season combined for a record of 253-188 in 2018-19, a .574 winning percentage. 13 of them made a postseason tournament in 2019, five of which made the NCAA Tournament.
The entire 2019-20 schedule will be set at a later date once the SEC matchup dates and times have been set.
