Cam’Ron Fletcher planning September decision

Fletcher is set to visit UK in early August.

Who will be Kentucky’s first Class of 2020 pledge?

At the moment, it appears to be Cam’Ron Fletcher.

After all, the Wildcats have been gaining a lot of buzz in this recruitment recently, and he’ll be visiting Lexington on August 1. The four-star wing from Missouri has been planning a fall decision to this point, and that’s not changing heading into his official visit to Kentucky.

In an interview with 247 Sports reporter Evan Daniels, Fletcher revealed he is targeting a decision as early as late September. Fletcher also gave some more thoughts on what makes Kentucky stand out in his recruitment.

“The things I like about Kentucky is their style of play,” Fletcher said. “I feel like the coaching staff is great and coach Cal is a great coach. He cares about all of his players and he makes things happen for them.”

Daniels recently logged a crystal ball prediction in favor of Kentucky for Fletcher. Alabama, Michigan State, Missouri and North Carolina also make up his final five.

While powerhouses like the Spartans and Tar Heels in the mix, Rivals reporter Eric Bossi thinks Kentucky and Missouri have a slight lead at the moment. While staying close to home and playing in Columbia would be attractive to the St. Louis native, the Tigers have struggled just to stay above water under Cuonzo Martin, which should only help the Wildcats’ cause if they really want Fletcher in their 2020 class.
